About this scheme
“I feel happy knowing my wife is in such capable hands
while I am out.”
The Carers’ Respite Sitting Scheme supports carers living in Northallerton, Bedale and surrounding villages, offering them the opportunity for a short break from their caring duties.
How does it work?
Home visits are carried out by the co-ordinator who will match the person being cared for with a volunteer. Volunteers will usually visit between 2-3 hours per week at a time convenient
for the carer and volunteer.
All volunteers are required to supply references and undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
How much will it cost?
Hambleton Community Action offers this scheme free of charge.
Volunteer travel expenses are reimbursed.
