Hambleton Community Action is a client-centred Northallerton-based charity serving Hambleton and Richmondshire. We provide a range of interventions aimed at enabling people to participate socially and economically to the extent that they would like, delivered by around 100 volunteers and a small but committed staff team.
Our new “Stepping Stones” project, funded by the European Social Fund, provides support to people who feel they would benefit from volunteering activities but need a little extra help to do so. During phase 1, volunteers are matched to host organisations based on the volunteer’s skills, experiences, interests and values. In the second phase, Hambleton Community Action will provide a range of support interventions to the volunteers and the organisations, to promote a successful, mutually beneficial placement. The scheme recognises that volunteering can be a good way for people to get (back) into work, or to identify further education needs, and supports volunteers during their placement to enhance employability.
We are looking for a Project Officer to work alongside our experienced Volunteer Co-ordinator to deliver support to volunteers and host organisations, from the commencement of placements through to completion (phase 2).
This position is advertised as a fixed term contract, ending 30th September 2020.
