Have you considered helping your local community by offering your time?
If you enjoy meeting people and can spare an hour or more a week then Hambleton Community Action would love to hear from you. We are seeking volunteers in the Northallerton and Bedale areas for the roles listed below.
- Volunteer Drivers use their own vehicles to provide lifts for people who are unable to access public transport. Destinations include health appointments to local hospitals and doctors and other essential journeys. Expenses are paid to volunteers at 45p per mile.
- Our Carers Respite volunteers give carers a break by sitting with the person being cared for. Volunteers will usually visit for 2-3 hours per week at a time convenient for both parties.
- Our Community Befriending volunteers support people who feel socially isolated, by visiting them in their own homes. Visiting times are flexible.
- Our Shopping Angel volunteers provide people with transport to and from the supermarket or shop, help them with their shopping e.g read labels, reach for items and help pack / unpack bags etc.
If any of the roles interest you, please complete and return the volunteer application form here . Alternatively, pop in to see us at Ground Floor Office, 159/160 High Street, Northallerton, DL7 8JZ, we’re open 9am – 1pm Monday to Friday (our entrance is on Romanby Road opposite the Durham Ox carpark)
