Group Activities

If you're seeking a group activity, Hambleton Community Action has a wide range to offer.

Our Women’s Groups​ welcome women of any age from the surrounding area. All are welcome no matter what your background or experiences have been in life. There are two groups in Northallerton, one meets weekly on Thursday mornings 10:30am – 1pm and the other meets on a Wednesday evening from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. Both the sessions are held at Hambleton Community Action, 159/160 High Street, Northallerton, DL7 8JZ

The Bedale group meet weekly on Wednesdays at Chantry Hall from 1pm-3pm.

​We also have a Facebook group called Northallerton’s Women’s Group where we post relevant information.             

The Way Forward Bereavement Friendship Groups​ welcome people who have lost their life partner and would like to meet others in a similar position to arrange social gatherings and events for mutual support. Meetings take place in Barkers 1st floor cafe on the first Thursday of the month,2pm- 3.30pm and another group in Bedale meet on the third Thursday of the month at 10:30am – 12pm (Third Thursday Each Month)The Courtyard Cafe, Market Place, Bedale.​

The Winding Road Group welcomes relatives of people who have recently moved into residential care. The group meet weekly in UpFront at 11am on Wednesdays and offers an opportunity to share feelings and experiences.

Our Social Craft Groups held in the local community enable people to​connect with others, have a cuppa and try new activities tailored to the group.  The sessions are held at  Rivendale, 227 Bankhead Road, Northallerton once a month  (usually the 2nd Wednesday in the month) from 2.30pm - 3.45pm. Also at Abbeyfield, 82 South Parade, Northallerton (usually the 2nd Thursday in the month) from 10.30am - 11.45am. Refreshments are provided and the activities are focused around being fun and engaging.

POSCH (Parents & Carers of Special Children) provides support to parents and families of children with additional and special needs who live in the Hambleton, Richmondshire and surrounding areas. The group promotes and facilitates parent to parent support, whilst providing a safe and confidential space for parents to chat and sign post to other key agencies in the area.

A wide variety of daily activities are also held in our UpFront community space such as craft & knitting groups, chess & games groups, conversation groups etc.
