Carers' Break

The Carers’ Break Scheme supports carers living in Northallerton, Bedale and surrounding villages by offering them the opportunity for a short break from their caring role.

This service enables the carer to leave the house, attend appointments, go shopping etc

Our co-ordinator will try to match the person being cared for with a volunteer based on mutual interests, likes etc. Volunteers will usually visit between 2-3 hours per week at a time convenient for the carer and volunteer.

No personal care is provided by this service, our volunteers provide company only and Hambleton Community Action offers this scheme free of charge.

All volunteers are required to supply references and undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Hambleton Community Action reimburses the volunteer travel expenses.
